The first half of August in Vienna has been as hot as in the rest of Europe.
So we took time to get some clay from a clay quarry (and had some fun there too).
It get’s quite thick, with clay and stones.
At the clay quarry, in the august heat, in the only remnant of a normally 1,5 m deep waterplace.

After the clay bath
And it feels really cool at such a temperatures (30+C).
And made some pots and other “work” that we burned later in an open fire.
Bringing the pots closer and closer, till they are hot enough to be covered by wood to start a real big fire.
looking at the fire burning the clay pots lying underneath.
In order to limit the access to oxygen and let carbon change the colour of the pots.
